Overview:
New Rose “Damned” Dry Gin captures the rebellious spirit of The Damned’s song “New Rose.” This project translates punk rock ethos into a striking gin brand using Punk aesthetic packaging design. Therefore, it stands out with its unique and bold design.
Design Concept:
The design for New Rose “Damned” Dry Gin draws from the vibrant 1970s punk rock scene. Several primary elements contribute to this look:
Found Type and Collaged Elements: Inspired by the DIY punk rock nature, the typography features letters cut from various magazines, creating a raw feel. In other words, it embodies the true spirit of punk.
1970s Horror-Themed Imagery: We used visuals from a horror-themed fan club, bringing a sense of dark fun to the bottle. This approach adds a layer of intrigue and rebellion.
Stamps and Album Art: Collaging vintage stamps and elements from The Damned’s album art pays homage to the band’s legacy. For instance, these elements create a nostalgic yet edgy vibe.
Final Outcome:
The final design for New Rose “Damned” Dry Gin bottle embodies the life and energy of the punk rock era. It creates a bold and captivating brand that stands out on the shelf. This blend of visual elements not only pays tribute to The Damned but also brings a dynamic spirit to gin. Therefore, it achieves a perfect balance of historical homage and contemporary design.
